  • Worlds Worst

Possibly the worst photo I have ever seen in my life. I did "NOT" take this but - I thought it was the best example of bad composure I have ever seen, and some might profit from it.

The photo was taken in Asheville NC, USA, where I live. I will not comment on it now, but leave it to you as to the subject matter in this shot. GUESS!

what ever is going across the sky?
    is the subject matter?

thought a few other bits but dismissed them:

I wondered about that to, I don't think it is anything going across the sky. It appears between the camera, and the overhead wires. More than likely Pigeon poo on the lens, as there are a lot of them up-town. Pigeon poo would complement the photo though.

Well I don't know though, if you look there is a strange glare all over the photo. Especially at the bottom.

      Subject = ?.

you could be right about something on the lens
it has a strange straight line to it.

Do you know what the subject matter is?

I suspect the photo may have been shot from a moving vehicle.

That "strange glare " looks like the interior of the car reflected in the windscreen. the 'smear, higher up, is likely to be a relection of the interior of the car door.

Just a guess but I suspect that's what it is - 'cos I've sometimes seen something similar when I've grabbed snapshots through a car (or camper) windscreen myself.

You could be right Pol, but shots through the windshield are normally not my thing. Although I did take a few on the way back from the cost last year, but none could compare with this.

The "Subject" here is supposed to be the Art Deco architecture, of the city hall. But a turn just to the left for about 100 yards, would have taken him to the court house plaza, where he could have gotten a dead on shot. Sans the telephone poles, wires, trees, and the tilted landscape. Also the architecture from the front of the building, is much more elaborate. And on top of everything else the city building is dead center, well sort of ---- except for the trees.

I think when the weather gets warm, I am going to walk around up-town, and do a few of these. Asheville has a lot of old weird buildings, plus some new weird ones. I've been looking for something different to do, and this might be it. But just not like this photo.

Guess it was taken through the side window of a car , another guess is that the building behind the tree is the main topic .
But i agree everything that could be wrong , is wrong with this shot .
But i've taken many a quick snap as a memento just as bad as that .

I know without doubt I have to. But I usually would not think of putting them on public display. Would you believe the photo critics?? on the local weather site gave this a 8.5 out of 10.
