Aaaa...very good one. Nice mirroring and well captured.
Hardly I see Nightshots here and they are from my favorite types of photography.
    Well done Ash!

Forgot to say that sometimes in Nightshots setting the WB to "Incandecent" can have extremely good results.

if you ran this through 'neat image' or something similar to clean up the sky you'd have a winner IMO.

        beautiful shot!

          Hi Ash,
A great image, a really good night shot, love the lighting and reflections, not an easy subject to get right, but you made it, nice one.

              Re: Lakeside Inn

The photo has a warm feeling with an attractive glow behind the main building. There are also some pleasing reflections in the lake. Its a shot that if one had been staying there would probably bring back good memories of the visit.

I felt however that it was a tad too dark and if it had been taken with a bit more light in the sky, during the blue hour it may have needed a shorter exposure which may also have had a better effect on the lighting round the main block.

I'verun it through Neat Image, but I'm not totally convinced of the need. It was taken at iso100and there is not noticeable noise that would worry me normally. However I've also run it through my secret weapon of an exposure correction plugin and felt it helped, so this is what I ended up with.

                Re: Lakeside Inn

Ash, this is a great image. While I can see some niggling issues with areas of the exposure, the WB and noise, the overall feel of the shot is sufficient to keep my interest and that's praise indeed. In other words, it's one of those shots which is greater than the sum of it's parts

EDIT: Stephen has brought out some extra detail in the trees with his version and I'd suggest that he's added some polish to an already good photo. That said, I really think you nailed this one. Kudos

Thanks to everyone that has responded, you feedback helps alot, this was essentially the view from the lakeside villa where we stayed for the week, and it was the first night when we arived. Going out in the cold with the tripod was worth it, when the missuz says your mad, or words to that effect , it makes me wanna go out even more.
I do like your rendition stephen as it just gives it that little extra boost, cheers. It would be nice to apply that to my full res image.
                  cheers
                  Ash.
