Hi Mike, I like the first one, - he/she looks very happy, relaxed and content

The second is affected negatively by the light - though I do like the 'i've got my eye on you' look

The last one had potential, but the full-on sunlight makes it very difficult for the camera (any camera!) to cope with the huge dynamic range, so it's washed out - especially the highlights. Also, (I think that's your other half? ) - it's a bit too posed. Next time, get her to look at the horse and almost forget the camera is there.

Well, unlike Ian, I really like the last one Mike!

I agree about the lighting conditions, but, so what if its posed, it looks 'right' the horse looks so relaxed, and the glance to the camera by the lady works.

I think with a little more tweaking of the curves/levels, it would look lovely.

Hi, First is the best, IMO second is humerous and the third posed, so for me it number one.

Thanks for the coments, the third image was posted to show my wifes dedication................can you see what she's kneeling in first 2 are the same horse stood in exactly the same position, it was me that moved to use the afternoon sun from the opposite side. As some of you may know light on subjects has always been a problem for me, fortunately I had time to think things through a little. Maybe that explains the eye contact in the second..............something like "what is he up to now".
Our foal was laid in that position for ages and you cant get them to pose that often
