Grandmother with her grandchildren

Tom's previous thread reminded me of this photograph and I was going to post it within his thread but was not sure of the protocol (I did not wish to highjack his thread).

I thought I would post it anyway and any comments would be welcome. I know the tree trunk is in an unfortunate position behind the grandmother.

i like the expressions here. the woman seems a bit curious of your camera; the girl is curious but a little shy, and the older boy doesn't seem too interested.

the backdrop is beautiful!

What on earth did you say to the lad, he looks rather fedup and is deliberately avoiding the camera.

The colours here are beautiful. The little boy looking away is not a problem for me but it looks as if he was kissing his sisters shoulder. In itself the background looks very lovely but it competes with the family. i think Autumn ,that the background and the trees could be subdued a little bit more using Gausian blur. But the family is really great and the adults face is wonderful. These shots are never easy as there is always a bit of discomfort when taking them if you know what I mean.
My daughter is in India now and she has been sending home pictures with those great colours as seen here.

A lovely image, beautiful colors and scenery, I agree that the background competes with the people, but a good photograph.
