    Re: untitled

This looks like a view of the antarctic ice cap - some kind of giant impressionist map of the world? Or it could be a wall with badly peeling paint? It would appear to be a combination of two or more images... but whatever, it's highly effective. Thank you again, Jon!

      Re: untitled

Nice one Jon, reminds me very much of looking out of a train window and seeing the reflection of whats behind in the window. Ian is right though it does almost look like a map of the world in a sort of jumbled way. I suppose you could say it was saying something about communication, with the telephone cables spanning the world

        Re: untitled

This is brilliant - I love it!

Map of the world, communication and a surreal twister all rolled into one ... and a cute little alien green dog smiling and wagging his tail, bottom left hovering on the horizon.

        Maybe that dog is Toto?

Wonderful creativity Jon. I could start quessing how you did it but I won't because I prefer not to know, but just look at it and enjoy what is a beautiful image.

            Hi Jon

This is really good - the more you look the more you see. I was thinking earlier what would be a good subject for the salon and "communication" came to mind. This would be a serious contender.

            Regards

              Re: untitled

Interesting image, Jon Mikal. It's one of those "it works for me but I don't really know why" kinda shots, and they're quite rare for me

The hazy, grainy feel and the low saturation give it a real timeless quality, so as Martin said, it'd have been perfect for the last salon

              Nice one.

                I'll echo Pol - it's brilliant...

And Pol - cute little alien green dog? I don't know what you're on, but can you pass it this way! Just got back from the dentist after a large filling so feeling very sorry for myself

Here's a small crop of the green 'alien' dog - bottom left of the frame. there's a little head with a black nose, a black outline of one eye, an ear and its tail sticking up behind.

Jon - is the picture a mural or maybe graffiti with flaking paint?

                  Alien dog attached.

                    you guys are too funny

thanks for all your kind words and interesting interpretations.

pol - i find myself photographing decayed wood surfaces and walls to use as backgrounds. i combined two images using layers and tweaked with opacity and brush tools in PS.

                      Re: untitled

Sorry to come in late. been away. Anyway. Love this shot cause it makes me come back and take another look. I thought it was a map of the world ghosted in the background and the wires signified communication.

Too much imagination that's my problem.

Anyway. great picture - composition , grain , colours

                      Best Regards
