  • Imperfect perfection

    Hi All,

I am going through a "flower" phase. I discovered a rocky river bed (dried up) that had been taken over with wild flowers - the most prominent being the yellow californian poppy. Being close to the ground most shots involved using a tine tripod and lying on the stones. This shot appeals to me because one of the petals has gone, yet the flower still retains its beauty of form. What do you think.

    Re: Imperfect perfection

The gentle curve of the flower stem give the impression of a shy flower to me. I'm more in love with the soft background you have created but find the very bottom right corner very distracting. I realize that it is a foreground flower but it looks more like a blob of something alien to the rest of the photograph.
Been looking a long time now and beginning to feel that the flower heads at top right are also a distraction. I want to view just the main flower and that lovely soft background but all the other stuff is getting in my way.
Yup...definately to heavy on the right. (IMO)

i love the color and softness in this shot.
      perfect DOF.
the spot in the lower right corner is a little distracting, but still a fine image.

Love this shot. It is the sensual curve of the main subject that makes it. Gives it a "sexy" feel

As regards the other flowers in the picture I actually think it works very well compositionally. The colours are spot on too vibrant without killing the eyes.

        Best Regards
