I agree. And while we're on the subject, why do people keep insisting on using tripods to mount their cameras onto, when it's quite obvious that they're designed to either hang your bag on when out on location, or to dry one's "smalls" back at home.

As for the ride-on tripod problem..... I had the same prblem with gert but I sorted it with the help of a straight-jacket for his arms and splints for his legs.
Plenty of sharpening here but in this case I think it is an asset; it brings a freshness to, and invites the eye to penetrate the rust and decay. Big, bulky, lovely image.
I would imaging that this was a beautiful ship in it's time that served it's owners well. Now just cast aside, I find this photograph very sad indeed.
Ships and humans all suffer the same fate in the end.
Lovely pic Tim, but my first thought also was it's a touch oversharpened but at that time I hadn't read all the other comments, so now I feel I have the confidence to say it. The composition is great.
