  • Rejected: blurry/out of focus according to http://www.aero-pictures.net/

These 3 photos were rejected by aero-pictures.net because according to them they were blurry/out of focus. The only thing I can think of is that:
    1. the background is blurred because of the lower shutterspeed/panning
    2. prop blur.
Note that the main subject ( the airplane) is in focus.
    Please your opinion about it.

    1) Plane is in focus, can't see the problem.

    2) Tail is in focus but nose and cockpit are off-focus, probably insufficient depth of field.

    3) Plane in focus, can't see the problem - unless they wanted a bit less prop blur.

Maybe they noticed the focus was out in No2 and rejected the whole set because of this.

I see some motion blur on the first one towards the tail, the front of the plane looks reasonably sharp. I have noticed sometimes when panning this sort of thing can happen.
The second is I feel is unsharp regardless of depth of field.
The third is reasonably sharp, but the propeller is so fast it's hasn't got one, and without wishing to upset its not the most exiting picture anyway.

It's got to be realised these specialist sites do have extremely high standard, and are possibly rejecting a very high proportion of all submissions.

Just keep on trying and polishing your skills, you will get there, and it will be the more satisfying when you do get an acceptance.

I have been looking at the site in question, the standard is very high indeed with picture that are really sharp nose to tail, separated well from the backgrounds. excellent technique to get this sort of quality.
