  • "Studio" dog portrait - Critique welcome

I want to nail this type of shot, I have posted it elsewhere but would welcome more feedback, be brutal.

      Drat, no exif data!

I don't think the crop contributes anything and I prefer the un-cropped version, which I think is very good.

If I were you I would selectively adjust the tone of the upper portion of the pooch which is just a teeny bit hazy.

        D800 50mm f1.4 @ 1/250 f9
        cropped (4912x7360 to 4407x5509)
LR then some work around the left eye to lighten a dark bit and darken a distracting highlight.

I'm not sure what you mean by hazy, wonder if it is the work I have done around the eye?

Unworked crop of the area I have adjusted

The tones look a little compressed - a bit too light - but it's better in the lower half of the frame.
