It is my intention to return to the scene of the web designer and attempt to get better shots, I had no tripod with me, The lighting sucked etc. Any tips on how to improve these shots would be appreciated. I considerec adding them to the wildlife thread but seeing as its my mums fowl run not my backyard, I leave that ....
You have some fabulous photographs, and I see where you are coming from, but if you are wanting to get the spider's web and the spider as a theme for "Web Design" (if I have got the wrong idea, forgive me), I think you need a darker background to the spider's web.
Hi,
As autumn has already pointed out a darker background may have helped, but you have no control over that so mybe you will need to have some controlled lighting and or reflectors to help to highlight the spider and web and underexpose the background, but that also depends on how much space between the subject and the background, just my thoughts on the subject, perhaps someone with more experience can offer more in depth advice.
OOOoooh Kreepy Krawly & it ain't the swimming pool type neither! It looks to be a male spider as females are supposed to spin neater!! Lol! Did you try using Shadow & Highlights....I don't know if that would help much tho'! Good shots.
Thanks Its the type I call nasty big yellow sods, The pics do not give you any real sense of scale but this fella is about 70 - 75 mm in circumferernce
You have hit the nail on the head, I want to use them on one of my web design sites. That darker bckground is more difficult than you will imagine. I am going to try for a different angle getting up closer to the roof so that the roof is not my background
