This is straight from camera, no proccessing or cropping.
    just resized for forum.
When I attempted various proccessing techniques it just didn't look right.
    What would you do??

That's a good, clear shot. He posed and paid for eez peanuts very nicely.

I often found Woodpigeons difficult to process because of the white feathers on the neck and, if you're not careful, you can end up losing the feather detail on and around that part of the bird - burnout on the white being the most common problem.

The way I'd go about it would be to mask the white area and process the neck separately from the other areas - then blend the layers carefully to get the correct balance and true colour representation of the bird.

To finish off - I'd aim to be sure the eye was sharp .... as you would for any bird shot.

Whole proccessing is where I have been going wrong. Never thought of isolating the white.
