  • Unusual ornaments

The wife finished decorating the tree and I grabbed my iPhone 5 to take some shots. Here's Curly from the Three Stooges. Do you have any unusual ornaments?

Well I suppose this could be classed as an ornament - rarely seen nowadays.

Pat, is there a story behind such an unusual Christmas ornament?

Eclectic takes on new meaning with our annual Christmas tree. We even have a second tree at our ski condo in Vermont devoted entirely to Penn State ornaments. Three of my wife's four degrees are from PSU and I've become a fan too.

I'm a traditionalist and always resisted getting an artificial tree but my wife found this 9 foot pre-lit one about ten years ago and it's held up well. There are traditional ornaments on it but we've collected ornaments from all the places we've visited and others just because they evoked good memories. I'm a huge fan of the Three Stooges. Larry and Moe are elsewhere on the tree. A tour of the tree will reveal The Rockettes, Howdy Doody's Buffalo Bob, AA Milne characters, Disney characters, and many more including a skydiving Bugs Bunny.

This one was to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the late Neil Armstrong's first step on the moon. Hard to believe it's now almost 44 years.

Looking through an old external hard drive, I stumbled on this from 2008 using a Fuji Finepix F100fd. It was a little dark but I think the outcome looks OK.
