Posted some Waxwing shots on here before but as they are still around I got this one the other day and I think it's the best I've managed on this species so far. It appears to be calling but it is actually just finishing swallowing a Hawthorn berry. Windy weather so blurred feathers on the back and should I clone out OoF berries, in fact does the background distract too much? Does the bird need more space? Nevertheless I am pretty pleased with it, what do folks think?

The waxwing itself is a beauty.
The berries belong in the photograph as do the branches but maybe a bit more space is needed on the left.
After another long look maybe those out of focus berries on the left could be removed depending on what else is revealed if you recrop to increase space on that side.

It's a lovely shot with a lot of detail but I feel the bird needs a bit more space, if that's possible (assuming it's a crop).

I'm not so sure I'd do any berry cropping as they add to the dof. If possible, I'd just try to get a bit more space in front of the bird.

Yes indeed, that's much better imho.

A good sense of scale and a nice non-intrusive environment showing the bird in an overall well proportioned setting. Still showing all those lovely details on the bird too.

Just about as good as they come and .. those out of focus berries blend into the photograph nicely now.

Very pleasing picture, says something about its environment and the ruffled feathers add to the feel of weather, the second version being much the better of the two, the crop of the first as said by others was too tight.
