  • And finally

Finally, a shot from my trip to the lake district. A rapidly diminishing free space reading on my 300Gb HD where I keep my RAWs has forced me to go back and look for the dross to delete. I came[IMG][/IMG] across this unconverted file.

I processed the raw twice, once exposing for the land / water and once for the sky. I then combined the shots and used the eraser to delete the overexposed sky.

    here is the result.

    Best Regards

Josh -- really like your composition. The foreground vegetation eliminates a portion of the sky reflection and you captured the variety in the terrain. It may just be me, but there may be the slightest bit of excess sharpening. Then again, it may be my trifocals and monitor settings.

It's a lovely scene, Josh, but don't you think it lacks a certain crispness? There is a certain softness, the dark areas seem little too light; almost a mistiness or haziness about the picture?

Lovely shot Josh. I'll be going to the Lake District for the first time in the late spring - really looking forward to it.

I've been playing with some of my landscapes trying to reduce the haze in the distance and (I hope you don't mind!) I had a go at yours. Think I over-cooked the sky a bit but I'd be interested if anyone thought it was an improvement as far as the haze over the hills goes.

I'd go back and have another go and tone down the sky but it's gone midnight and I've got to be up early in the morning

            Hi Josh,
A lovely tranquil landscape, a little misty in the distance but in my view not a major distraction, is that how it was? I personaly would tweek the curves and levels to see if I could improve the clarity, but the image works as it is.

              Thanks all for the comments.

I agree with the misty comments. If I remember corrrectly it was a misty morning. I will go back and have a look at improving the crispyness.

              Comments have been appreciated.
