With regard to resizing for web, I usually "reprocess" those which I'm going to put on a web page to 72dpi - it also means they're less likely to get pinched!

Thanks for the advice about dpi. I hadn't realised it made a greater difference to the size of the image than does the Kb or Mb measure. Im afraid that I still struggle with post image processing despite having produced hundreds of images using various software over the years.
