Deeds303 asked me to remove the picture because she wants to watermark it. I hope we can reinstate the watermarked version later. Ian

    Re: Window to the Soul

Hi Deeds - this is a lovely picture but a couple of things worry me a little - the picture is rather soft, in fact it looks like it has been resized larger than it was.

I was interested in the image details but there is no exif data embedded in the image. The image url also looks rather weird. I have to remind everyone that they must only show images that they have permission to - so if this is one of your own images that's fine but we do respect the rights and, especially, the copyright, of other photographers.

UPDATE: deeds303 has explained that the image is indeed hers and that's good enough for me. I just wanted to gently explain to everyone here that care should be taken to ensure that if you post a photo here that you have permission to do so if it's not your own picture.

This seems like a stock photo to me. I use "Tineye" on Firefox which is a reverse image search, it has found this image on 37 different websites

If there is no copyright restriction on the image then no problem, but in fairness we're more interested in the work of DPNow members here, unless of course we're discussing the work of photographers elsewhere but I don't think we have any idea of who the photographer behind this image is.

Sorry to hear this as I did take this picture quite some time ago and it has been posted (or passed around due it's popularity) a good bit. With that said, I will gladly remove it.

As it's your picture, then there is no problem

The fact that it appears to have been copied many times over and used in many other sites does illustrate the general problem with the Internet and image copyright. We can't stop it but we do want to do our bit to do what's right here on DPNow.

The eyes have it .. shame the fingers are so soft. They would have made a much nicer balance

                Me too.

It's a very nice picture, also very typical of deeds303 style of photography imho. She has a knack of conveying and/or evoking emotion with apparently simple content yet powerful images.

I'm glad she's decided watermarks might be a good idea! Quite right too!
