  • Success at last!

Moved over from an Olympus E5 to a Canon 7D to increase my rate of Birds in Flight (BIF) keepers. Never managed to get a keeper of a House Martin before but got a few today. Pretty happy as the light was appalling and they move so damned fast and change direction so often. Here's the best of the bunch:

I have to admit that I added a bit of catchlight to the eye, otherwise just shadow lightening and a tad sharpening.

    What do you think?

Great shot that is sharp and detailed...I think you made the right decision for what you shoot David.

The change of gear certainly seems to be working for you.

Difficult subject to start with but you made a good capture here.

I really enjoy great bird in flight photos (and this is definitely one) mostly because it looks so difficult a subject to isolate and get a good image . I see little hummingbirds out of my kitchen window frequently but when I try to photograph them, I get mush. Nice work!
