I've come to really enjoy your low key photography, Mihir. This is a nice example and very abstract. I feel I see a black band at the base of the image though - is that correct?

My first thought was that the dark band needed to be cropped out because it was dominating the whole shot and distracting from the subjects however, lifting it to resemble a gradient may do the trick and still keep your preference for a square image.
I like the low lighting of the upper half a lot.-------------------------

I think the darkest blacks in the original shot simply need to be darkened to match the added bottom section - you could even do this without layers by processing image as it is, say, in Lightroom as the dark base probably already is 100% black and won't get any darker. I wouldn't recommend lifting the added area as then there would be no true blacks - one of my pet hates
