In principle I think what you have done is to be encouraged, but personally I feel it would have been better if you had simply posted a link to the page, thereby directing people to it. If they want to comment here they can. The thing is Peter may not have wanted his picture on the critique forum
yes i see your point stephen, but then he did put his pic in gallery & asked for comments so technicly we are commenting on his very good work but verbaly not with thumbs up or down.i will however pm peter & tell him ive posted his pic & if required will of course remove it.but as i say if you post in gallery & ask for comments then isnt that what you get "comments"however you receive them ?
quote from bearface via another post, link http://dpnow.com/forum2/showthread.php?p=8449#post8449. which is what i based my opionion on when i posted the pic
text quote from bearface [If someone merely wishes to convey a brief opinion without committing to an in-depth review of a given photo, they can do so very easily in the forum. Comments can either be left in a thread established by a photographer seeking feedback on a given image, or by copying/pasting a link into a forum post and typing a few words. Both approaches give the user the freedom to make their feedback as basic (or as in-depth) as they choose, which to my mind removes the need for an additional comment facility in the gallery.
However, if an individual decides that they wish to anonymously "score" an image in the galleries without having to commit to a forum post, they can simply use the rating system provided to rate the images of their choice in the gallery.]
isnt this what ive done ? have pm peter accordingly, & await his reply.
I am pleased you like the photo and NO I do not mind you posting it here. I guess its something I should have done myself. I think Stephen is right about posting other peoples photos, its not something I would have done but like I said no harm done.
but i still stand by what i said in my last 2 replies.... & as i read from the link ive previously posted i thought going by that, thats what you can do if you find a good pic never mind we all know now what not to do then
As I have said many times before and will say again whenever occurences such as this get repeated 'All this could be avoided if comments were allowed to be placed with photos which one finds very pleasing in galleries' . !

I understand what you are saying, however, I dont agree with where you have posted it. The reason being is because it might be that Peter did not want critique on the picture. Maybe somewhere such as 'the eye of the camera' would be more appropriate?

I agree, if you are going to do it, then eye of the camera is the place, not the critique, if the photographer did not want it seen the galleries would not be public, and copy and paste disabled.
