Hungarian old barn scene

Taken at a historical open air museum called Skanzen, in Hungary, where different ages of Hungarian culture are recreated, like homes and farms.

Created from a 5 x 1EV exposure bracket and HDR merged in Photoshop CS6. I used the Panasonic Lumix 12-35 f/2.8 lens on an Olympus OM-D E-M5 body.

To my inexperienced eye im finding it difficult to get to grips with both, the subject matter if really nice..........i love oldy worldy!
The colour image has in my eyes more depth and impact which I think is lost in the B/W version.
I think the bright area in the background by the tree draws the eye away from the cart.

I like the Idea which I guess was difficult with the shade and light and would like to see a non HDR version

Oh by the way today I lost my reading glasses so therse are probably superb

Well how about that?! I have had a go at the middle frame of the bracket sequence, which was +0.3 EV and the result below, in my view, knocks the HDR version I posted yesterday for six:



The ability to recover the shadows and highlights is just amazing with the E-M5. I did a lot of selective dodging and burning in Lightroom via the adjustment brush but despite squeezing so much out of the pixels I didn't have to use any noise reduction. Here is the unprocessed and un-cropped frame:

That's much easier on the eye, I find myself focusing on the wagon and reeds now, nice details IMHO.
