Re: Anita and the Cat - Art Nude

I find it astounding, that this image has been here for 1 week. It has been viewed no less that 320 times, and yet, not one comment!

I havent been using this forum for a while unfortunately, due to other commitments.
But hope to be returning soon!

I'm only sorry to see that members take the time and effort to take these photos and show them, only to find that no one bothers to comment.

Graham. I do like this image. The overall effect is pleasing. There are a couple of small bits that my eyes pick up on.

First. I apreciate that you were using the lighting from the ceiling. But it is just a little too blown for my liking. I do realise that this may have been what you wanted.

Secondly. The white border above the arch, seems to be out of level. Again I realise that this may be due to using a wide angle lens, and it may purely be that the border is out of level in the corridor.

These may seem nit picking. But they are two items that draw my attention.

Other that that! Very nice. I like the mono treatment! The subject of the woman and cat, work very well. I also like the contrast in shades.

      Garry,

I very much appreciate the comments. This was a very challenging shot on many levels.

It was shot in a very old house with many of the period features (dark decore, sloping walls, ceilings etc) still intact.

The lights only just provided enough to work with and the cat has movement blur. Anita is lit by flash from a soft box through the door. She has two of those "Sphinks Cats" which were quite young at the time and kept jumping on me (very sharp claws)

Although this kind of shot isn't really my cuppa, I rather like the weird juxtaposition of the two subjects - and that cat is the show-stealer with those ears
