Cheers Stephen. I used Photomatix Pro 2.3 beta for the HDR and Panorama Factory for the Pano. Its 6 shots in portrait with 5 bracketed shots in each.

Ah, Ian & I were just tying to decide, I thought it was a Pano, but then saw the rt hand horizon and wondered

This is the same software I use, though haven't installed the Beta version yet, are there any obvious improvements to the previous version? Did you attempt tu use the Tonemapping element, doesn't look like it I have to say.

There was some serious processing there though 30 shots to blend, though presumably it was in batches of 5 then the resulting files were stitched.

Yes the horizon slope is something i'll work on Not used the program much to tell if there are any improvements. I used Generate HDR then reveal HDR (tone mapping)
The Processing was a bit of a chore Yep i stitched the final 6 HDR images.

Very impressive Andrew. I play with both panos and HDR when time permits but I'd never got round to trying the two together. I prefer PTGui for panos but each to his own and it's difficult to fault the results you've achieved with this example using your chosen tool. Excellent subject for the experiment too.

Apparently - use the tick with the ABC above it (top right of the input panel) to check your spelling. You can download the free spellchecker plugin from www.iespell.com

Ah well there you go, I use Firefox which isn't compatable with iespell

Autopano Pro, PTGui or Hugin will all enable the horizon to be accurately levelled during the stitching. PTGui and Hugin can also "stitch" a single image (like yours) to do the correction of an already stitched image. I did the correction shown in the attached image using PTGui. There's a loss of some of the image at the bottom after cropping the sloping bottom edge away which probably wouldn't have occurred in a stitch of the original images.

Incidentally, your posted image was in AdobeRGB colour space. You should convert it to sRGB for displaying in a web browser, since most do not recognize colour profiles. I must say you had better luck with the weather for your visit. When I went a couple of years ago, it was dull and grey.

Stephen - there is a FF solution, though my attempt at installing it wasn't entirely successful. Probably user-error!
