Re: Mono or colour?
another vote for the colour version - same reason as geoff - and also because her left arm is hidden further in the mono shot.
if you try another mono conversion, using channels, then the choice between the 2 becomes harder. i'd also consider getting the perspective de-skewed so that the steps are horizontal within the photo.

Re: Mono or colour?
Colour for me Ian as the mono has lost a lot of the mood in the transition, looks like it was a straight conversion in LR to me with no input from the B &W panel sliders.
By the way it's a great pic and one I would have been proud to have taken, the model and the lighting are beautiful.
Just for your consideration Ian a 3 minute job in LR3, I will delete from my gallery later Ian.

There were a lot of us jostling around and this was more of a snap than a carefully executed compositionOriginally posted by rogleale View PostOlyPaul beat me to it Ian. A good conversion to b&w beats the colour version hands down after ten minutes in ACR.
Was it a snapshot Ian? It looks posed but the framing is awful!
Sorry!
Roger
Here is the original unadjusted frame.

All things considered, I'm quite pleased with the crop.

Re: Mono or colour?
Just re-read my comment Ian - sorry about the abruptness, that's why I don't often comment on pics. I tend to write just what I would have said if we were looking at it together, and written down it seems rude.
I didn't criticise the crop - just the framing, and apparently you were limited.
