Would appreciate critique on this. Had trouble sorting out perspective. Probably would have been a bit better if the flag had opened out. Anyway, what do you think ?

Hi Trevor, I love compositions like these myself. This is aboutthree pictures in one; the flag framed by the broken building, the building and also the strange (in the context) almost brand-new looking window pane.

The flag might probably have looked better in another moment in time, but I don't think it detracts too much. This is not an instantly appealing picture for everyone, but I like it.

the title throws me a little since the flag was never in harms way.

neat composition, but the image doesn't grab me that much.

        Hi ddigit, trev,
The image is quite interesting and seems to be trying to make a statement, the flag seems to be in a war torn area perhaps,? and could possibly accompany a news item or statement on the state of or the reason for the battle, an interesting and thought provoking image image for some, it begs the question, Where is it? Why is it, what is it saying? I like it.

          Hi Tinka
Nothing as dramatic as that. This was an old building being demolished in the middle of Christchurch (NZ). The concept of a flag being framed in the raw framework being demolished appealed - sort of the human spirit standing proud against desolation - or is this too deep. Thanks for your comments.
