hi jocelyn, i'm not too keen on the desat around the outside as it makes the rose look dirty. i think that going for a vignette would be a better option as that would help focus attention on the centre, which given the desat of the outside, was probably your intention. hth.

i think that i would stick with a warm mono tone. maybe experiment with a mild radial blur on another layer (low opacity and erased in the center of the flower).
