Never was a great lover of the early "type2" the old gearstick was a wobbly affair and the motors were noisy, but I was trained more on the water cooled version. Much more sophistcated.....

Never had an old classic, ive had the more modern transporter t4, great van.
One day Im having me a classic camper and going travelling with my camera and an old dog Ill pick up from somewhere and life will be good

Yeah, and the damned thing will break down in the middle of nowhere & leave you up the creek without a paddle...the dog will run away with the spoon (& camera)! Old camper vans ain't that reliable but it's a dream we all have! LOL!JocelynComment

Could always get the ultra reliable t5 or t6 camper conversions with roadside assistance, a loyal sheepdog or labrador they never run away and a d3s with a 80-200 - at least if the dog did decide it did not like my company it would'nt run off with my camera

You made me laugh anyhow! A little banter is good for the soul! BTW I did like the photo & particularly the luscious red of the van! I had some of my first driving lessons in a VW! Mind you, I preferred driving a Triumph Spitfire with the leather hood down! It was a beautiful vehicle that went like a bat out of hell, which belonged to my other half! British racing green that was spit & polished every weekend!
