Oh gosh, in my youth I would have had little hesitation in jumping on the bannister and weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee all the way down.

I like it - almost film like.

Basically I like it, but find the out of focus foreground difficult.
Its not easy but I have seen such shots sharp front to back or top to bottom in this case.
The technique is to use a wide angle lens which you must have done and switch off auto focus and manually focus a third or halfway into the proposed picture and stop down as much as possible f16 or f22 this should give acceptable sharpness right through the picture.
