Not sure about this one I know what i was trying to do. got half way there iI think. had problems with light and space and subjects.

I like the idea, but for me I think it's too tight a crop, I want to see more of what's going on and to see more of the rising smoke, being mono I think it could do with more dark tones to contrast with the light ones, giving the shot a bit more punch.

I really hope you don't mind but I had a go at giving more contrast to the shot, I used the brightness and contrast sliders and then used some dodge and burn, just thought I would give it a go to see how it looks.

It's funny really because when I first looked I wanted to see more, but after having a dabble in Photo Shop it makes me want to get in close and see the work and the grime...

I see where your going, I was having trouble keeping the detail I feel you have lost a little on the legs and apron.
You have given it more lift than mine.

I prefer the original here. I appreciate that extra bit of detail in the bottom left. Those small pouch pockets add to the 'Craftsman' theme. I also think his hand shows a bit more detail in the original, more weathered and aged looking.
