I was fortunate in being selected by Amateur Photographer to be a part of one of their Masterclass shoots at the British Wildlife Centre with Paul Hobson

The theme for the day was "Animal Portraits" - Which for me, was something I've certianly never done before, as I rarely shoot animals anyway...

Being totally reliant on the whim and behaviour of the creatures, was very frustrating, although not unlike some models I have worked with

I am very pleased that AP have chosen several of my images for their report on the shoot.

But what do you guys think !

It's a great picture of a beautiful animal but the 'blurring' or out of focus area in the bottom left corner does it no favours. Is there something amiss there?

      Super shot of the fox.

That blur in the corner is a plant or something very close to the camera and out of focus, common using long lenses. Some localized contrast control could probably deal with it.

      Fine picture either way.

I can forgive the blurring because the fox is just beautiful and grabs the eye straightaway

Most of what I do with people gets quite a bit of post processing, so I thought with a "Natural" shots such as this, I'd keep the image as close to RAW as I could.

Normally I'd adjust the composition around the subject, but I figured she may well bite me (a bit like some of the models I've worked with )

            Lovely natural capture.

I took a few of a fox at the weekend (not downloaded from camera yet so don't know how they turned out) - but in a totally different situation, as it's semi-tame.
