  • Shark

Went to the Blue Planet Aquarium in the Wirral the other week and tried to photograph the sharks, not easy through the Glass/Plastic, whatever the giant tanks are made from. I know its thick stuff over 4", and isn't optically helpful.
I used the Canon G10, I will go back with the DSLR see if I can better this result.

They do supervised dives with these sharks may get a better shot

I don't know about critique but I do know that is one scary picture. Captures the menace of this killer very well. The additional fish swimming next to the shark helps as well.

Looks like a good capture in difficult circumstances

    Best regards

As Josh says, this image really captures what embodies the menace of this creature - the teeth look frighteningly clear. Looks like a good picture to visit, but I'll leave swimming with the sharks to you

        nice capture patrick!

the shark is a sand tiger (not to be confused with the much larger tiger shark) aka "raggie" or "ragged tooth", which are really docile and placid. you can get really close to them on a dive, just as long as you leave them an exit (same as any animal), so getting into the tank with them should pose very little danger unless you start doing something lame like pulling their fins or trying to hand feed them.

He is a little cutey, its always a bit of a challenge grabbing a good shot through the glass, a good fast lens and get that iso wopped up
A very good attempt, I like it.
