    Dear All,

Would welcome comment on this picture. I have posted both B&W and Colour versions as I am undecided as to which one "Works" the best.

    Best Regards

    Josh

Colour without question in my mind, there is no real recession in the B/W where as the colour has, accentuated by the blue.

Lovely shot Josh - colour work best for me, I like the almost pastel-like colours. B&W just doesn't have enough contrast, possibly the morning mist in the centre is lowering it.

Thanks both. The feedback is appreciated. I prefer the colour as well. Re the b&w the tiff file has more contrast on my screen but the jpeg loses some when I view through safari.

Colour for me also Josh, but I would like to see the green in the foreground softened a bit. (Of course it could be my computer).

            Hi Autumn

thanks for the comments. re the green, it is the grape vines. They are very green on the raw files as well. Will go back and see what happens if I dial them down a bit. Especially since I have other pictures with lots of vines in them. Thanks for the tip.

            best regards

              Hi All,

Following your feedback and some encouragement from Stephen about using lightroom for processing I went back to the sunrise shot.

This is the result. So for me the order of favs is sepia, colour and then B&W.

              best regards

I was going to say I prefer the B&W version best until I saw your Sepia version, which I think is super! So for me Sepia then B&W & then colour! I prefer the rays of sun/clouds & the hills with the monochromes as it seems to give them just that much more contrast & detail!

Josh it does'nt look much at first sight but because you have posted 3 seperate tones Im thinking more 'in print' and if you reversed one of the shots and cropped another for the centre shot, you could end up with a very interesting pano made from one shot, either framed in a multi aperture mount or some blending in ps to give one shot, something a bit different!

                      Hi Josh
Love the image but prefer the drama of the colour version. IMHO, the variations in colours/shades adds to the drama of the scene. It is lost in grey scale.
                      Kind regards
