  • A Proud Grandad

I wanted your thoughts on this image which was taken today, Ive done some pretty heavy processing but wondered if it was too much, I like it as I was after creating age to the photograph and something difo to the norm!
    cheers comments welcome

    Re: A Proud Grandad

I like the diagonal angle of the portrait. Grandpa and baby are just right. I think Grandpa's watch (and badge? bottom right) has too much emphasis Perhaps, you could make the watch face more sepia, you can't get rid of it, because it would spoil the balance.

The expression on Grandpa's face is wonderful. Baby looks very relaxed also.

Though not a great fan of sepia/mono, it does have its place and I think on this occasion it works well.

Just looked again; the Fairisle pattern on Grandpa's sleeve is not in keeping with the top of his jumper and I reckon you would not take anything away from the image if you cropped the right hand side to the edge of the watch and then toned it down and you/I? may like even more.

Thanks Audrey, I think I might have overcooked the sepia a touch
Its one for the album anyway and grandad loves it!
Ive managed to clone out the badge but kept the watch and also tried in b&w.
      cheers
