        Re: Weeping Angel

I've not seen any of the new Dr Who series yet so I'm not really sure what you are on about I'm also not sure what you are wanting in the form of comment. You have put 3 photos in the critique forum so I'm assuming some critique is being requested.

I'm not too sure what to say about the first photo. Its just a statue, you have used a wide aperture and this has thrown the background nicely out of focus, essentially though its a photo of a statue still and therefore, it could be argued someone else's art. I'm generally a little uneasy about this sort of thing, though if its a statue as part of a landscape, I'm much happier about that. I have for example taken photos of the Antony Gormley figures on the beach at Crosby nr Liverpool, but they were taken as part of the landscape which is what the installation intended them to be. I recently showed a picture which included a statue, but it was taken to show it in its environment and in the context of the location, Hardwick Hall.

As for the second photo, it looks as though you have added some diffusion/glow and some noise/grain. Its all added a slightly different dimension, but in the context of how I see the first shot its no different.

The third shot again is simply a photo of someone else's art, though perhaps with a more dramatic camera position, but its not saying a lot to me if I'm honest. Some dodgy exposure with this shot methinks

Perhaps in the context of Dr Who they may all work better, not too sure

This is called 'Diana's Statue'. I don't know the Lady who it refers to but it's a very moving piece of work. Now sadly starting to decay and fall apart but the emotion is still there to see and feel. Cannizaro Park Wimbledon SW19

Nice closeup Gina, is the black under the eyes in the stone/marble or is it graffiti?

I thought the same thing Ash but I did inspect it closely and it appeared to be in the rock itself. Rather a beautiful piece of work though.
