  • Panos anyone?

Just looking at this thread from last year after Autumn posted a new item..... wonderful stuff!

    Post your Panos here

My shameful admission is that I've never taken one of these - but I'd love to have a go!

Anyone able to offer some tips/advice to a newby about how to do it?

    Regards,

    Neil

if its a first go neil, pop your camera on a tripod, and make sure you have a decent overlap as well.

Oh, and put your camera into manual mode so as the exposure is the same for each shot.

what software will you be using to stitch, is it something you have thought about?

I use photoshop elements on day to day basis, but I've also got easy access to Photoshop CS4 (believe it or not its my son's on his computer as an add-on which he never uses - it came as part of a student package. - how jealous am I!)

I'm guessing the full CS4 will be easier for this than elements (if indeed its possible at all in elements?)

        Hi Neil,

CS4 will do the job admirably. This one was stitched in CS4 from 12 hand-held shots. Much reduced, the original is 2 metres long. Loads of scrolling!

It depends on which version of Elements you have. The most recent versions (6 and 7) will do a good job.

Another tip is to use the camera in portrait mode, so you get more of the vertical view in. Don't use the widest setting on your zoom lens as there will be more distortion to correct.

In the end, trial and error will endow you with some experience!
