  • Colour Management Again

    Hi,

Lots of questions arise about colour management, and many are repetitive because it is a very complicated subject. Purely by chance I came across a page which summarises very well the basic answers to most of the questions - HERE -

I have to point out however that when choosing settings for printing, and manual colour management, contrary to what the article says, 'ICM' should not be selected when 'No colour Management' is selected as it could lead to double profiling.

Hope that does help a little,

    Roger

      Re: Colour Management Again

For me, by far the best and most straight forward tutorial on colour management can be found on the "Computer Darkroom" . It's by Ian Lyons, a great photographer from Ireland. It's the only tutorial I refer to when I get bogged down, which is very often. There are so many documents on this subject offering multiple and often conflicting ways of doing the same thing that it just all becomes so confusing.
      Just Google "Computer Darkroom".

I agree that Ian Lyons' tutorial is excellent. Clear and comprehensive Tom, but far too complicated for many people. The reason I posted the link is that it is concise and clear about the important steps needed to colour manage without going too deeply into the subject.
I know from experience that for many amateur photographers, Section 1 of Ian's write-up will produce glazed eyes, and a click on the 'Photobox' bookmark!
