  • Removing background from images

Post deleted, Alex Ross's account has been terminated.

It seems that this person posts the exact same messages on dozens of sites in order to promote commercial services - spamming in other words.

I'm not deleting the threads as there is some useful information in the responses.

    Sorry about this!

Can you post a typical example here for us to see?

If the background is blue, it shoudl make things much easier.

Are you using Photoshop - which version (sorry if this is a repeat)?

Why cant you check your first posting on this subject, I have taken the trouble to reply with a method I learned, why ignore it.
If you don't understand the instructions I am happy to help, if its to complicated or doesn't do what you have in mind, or can't get it to what you want, say so.

If its not spam, he is a totally ignorant person for not acknowledging the help, even if the solutions offered didn't work for him.
I was so angry at th new thread he posted with exactly the same title just 5 days ago, but this time pointing to a commercial site offering a cut out service.
I guess that proves it to be spam.

Logic was telling me that if he could accomplished 300 images for a catalogue then he should be well clued up on dealing with the background. Just reading between the lines.

Sorry about this, Patrick. Spammers are getting more and more sophisticated.

But others will at least benefit from some of the responses here, like yours, of course.

In the mean time, the spammer and his commercial links have been zapped.

                        Hi Ian

Yes you make a good point, hopefully some of the regulars will find my method of some use.
It would be interesting to hear if anyone has tried it out, and how they got on.
I have cut out one or two things using it with great success, it can even cope with wispy hair if cutting out a head and shoulders portraits.
