  • Selective Desaturation Tutorial

A few people on another website keep asking how I selectively desaturate an image, so I thought I would put together a quick video tutorial for them.

I thought I would share it with you guys too.

    Comments very welcome!

              Re: Selective Desaturation Tutorial

Do you have a tutorial on how to replace a backgound please?

I have tried it in the past but found it terribly long winded - possibly because I was trying to do it without learning how to first.

              Regards. Barr1e

I dont have any tutorials as such, this is one that I have just done ad hoc.

But happy to do others if people find them useful.

Replacing background is one of those things that is easy to do, but so hard to do well! Its important to consider things such as lighting, shadows etc.

Have you got an example of the picture you are trying to replace the background on, and if you can include the background you are trying to replace it with, that would be helpful.

                  Re: Selective Desaturation Tutorial

Your offer is most kind - thanks. The idea struck me as every now and then I get the urge to change a bg and leave it because I don't really have the know how.
I suppose it is the time factor really - something I have plenty of but it seems to get lost somehow.

My daughter writes using the same language as Ash, I think it's called "text"...sorry - "txt"! There's probably an on-line dictionary or translation service somewhere m8 .

                          Re: Selective Desaturation Tutorial

It looks like simplicity itself the way you do it Ben. I shall have a go when I have a little more time.

I have done them before, but had forgotten how.

A very good tutorial (and a sexy voice to boot)
