  • Nikon 80-200 versus 70-200 vr

Ive recently become interested in these 2 lenses, although I have a 18-200vr lens which is a superb all rounder and travel lens, it does not offer the speed of the said lenses, as you can now pick up a 80-200 for around 500 quid, does the vr warrant double the money for the 70-200, or is there more to it?
If anyone has had experiences with either lens ide love to here what you think.
    cheers
    Ash.

Re: Nikon 80-200 versus 70-200 vr

Thanks bigbob, that helps, Im not in a position to fork out a 1000 squids on 1 lens, Im sure the results are amazing. To fork out that it would have to be really earning its keep
I would be interested to no if anyone has the 80-200, Im hesitating a guess at there would probly not be that much in it picture quality wise, so is the vr of the 70-200 really worth an extra 500 squids? Im finding it hard to imagine it is.

Depends on what you shoot, if you're going to mount it on a pod , then it's no use , but handheld at 200mm it'll give you 2 extra stops of light and that could mean the difference between a keeper or a trash can .
