xd picture card

Hi

having had to change first camera as it was faulty, now have a fuji finepix A600, took the memory card out to download pictures as i did with the hitachi, placed card into front of computer in the slot that fitted and nothing happened except the light came on next to the drive. when i clicked on my computers then on said drive it said insert disk?

camera software etc already downloaded onto system.

what am i doing wrong now!

Probably nothing. Try plugging the camera into your computer and reading the contents of the card from that.

After you have got the contents of the card onto the computer, reformat the card. Obviously this will delete all the images on the card – so check they are on the computer and will open!

erm dont know how to say this but just had a look at the slot on computer and realised it is full of dust, so i have stuck the hoover end over it and then put the XD card in and it works.
