Sorry for taking so long to reply on this matter. I've put the names in red under the photos.
I think you must have taken them around 21 yrs ago after the first Gulf War. At least 2 planes had Gulf War color schemes and markings on them. Namely the Buccaneer and the Tonka. Ehmmm... the Tornado.

Duh. Another one of those 'right way and wrong way to do it' debates that eventually ends up with another 'rule' to pass down through the generations.

And still going on, I must say. Although now a days within the aircraft photography world the general opinion is that composition wise propellers on moving propeller planes should be blurred. At least in such way that you can see that they are moving. A full disk would be nice, but is not necessarily. Especially when in flight.
You should be able to tell the difference whether the plane is standing still and is static with engines/props shut off, static/standing still with engines/props running and planes is moving/flying. of course same goes for Helicopters!

Thanks for naming those aircraft, André - I only knew some of them That Saab looks very weird! Apparently Saab cars were shown with American F15s in advertising on TV to demonstrate their rather tenuous link with Saab as an aerospace company

Hi Ian,
no problem. The original name was: Svenska Aeroplan Aktiebolaget (SAAB) and the started out in 1937 as an aircraft manufacturer, After WWII they started to buid cars as well. Now a days you have Saab automotive (comprises Scania trucks and Saab cars) and Saab aircraft.
Although the Saab J-35 Draken looks a bit odd, it was a formidable interceptor which was followed up by the more iconic Saab J-37 Viggen. The Saab JAS-39 Gripen is the successor of the Viggen and as the Viggen build to be a multi-role plane. JAS (Jakt-Attack-Spaning = Yacht-Attack-Reconnaissance).

Buddah, thanks for naming them. Just actually saw this today. Looking at the age of my beloved boys then yep, maybe 21 years could be right (big one is now 30, younger one 27). Thought it was a little longer but definitley bow to your knowledge of planes and their paintwork. It makes sense looking at the paintwork on the two you mentioned. They certainly look ready for desert work.
I was up the Gulf during the 1st war so I should really remember dates! Unfortunately, I don't. Auld age!

@TheBull1875: It wasn't that difficult to determine the right year. The Buccaneer was a dead give away. The buccaneer was retired in 1994 and seeing it in desert c/s meant it was still in service at the time of being photographed. This together with the information you provided gave it away.
During the 1st gulf war the buccaneer and the GR.1 tornado's were used as a deadly combo. The buccaneer as target designator and the tornado as the bomber.
