  • Opinions please.....

I'm not sure of myself in this forum but here goes anyway. I've posted five images in the Gallery (ok, six - one is in both colour and monochrome) and I'd really appreciate comments, criticisms (Ok I think I can take it!). I'm thinking of entering thm in a major local competition and I'd like to get some knowledgable comments first....

Here are a couple of them.... I hope this works....

The first - Struggle for Existence - this little plant battles for life in a rugged environment.

Shack Island was settled in the '30s by miners and fishermen who built their shacks of driftwood and scrounged materials to live through those hard times on their minimal resources.

Here's the original image, Cam. I have a couple of others and they are big enough (9 Mb RAW) that I could zoom in closer on the shacks. Beyond that, we want to go back but the peculiar tides in this area make it difficult until spring or summer when we get low enough tides to get across in daylight hours.

I prefer the b/w version. It seems to age the scene and give it more atmosphere..

Thank you. I agree. It was an interesting exercise in adjusting the colour channels.

B&W for sure!! The color takes away from it. Since they were made in the thirties..the B&W goes with the scene.
