    Re: Newbie question

    Hi and welcome to DPNow!

Are you planning to use the camera in conjunction with a telescope? Some compact cameras are well suited to this by using an adapter on the eyepiece of the telescope.

Otherwise, you need to factor in the cost of an appropriate lens.

      Re: Newbie question

      Hi Ian,

thanks for your response. Well, I did plan on using the camera in conjunction with the telescope. however I'm also aware it's not possible to do this with some cameras, thus a sufficient lens was required.

I just wanted to gage thoughts from people who know a hell of a lot more about phoography and cameras then I do at this stage on which camera would be best suited to my goal. However Astro-photographics is where I want to focus my effort and time.

As far as Im aware you can use any dslr with a scope, some are better suited than others but a t2 mount adapter seems to be the way.
Whatever camera you get you need to convert the mount to something universal, theres plenty on the world wide interweb about it, try this site for starters

        cheers
