Newer models of the iPhone have a Portrait Lens feature. Last night I took a shot of my wife with it and discovered that in Facebook there is now an option to upload the image in 3D. It can only be viewed in Facebook either on a computer or smartphone. I took a short video of my computer screen to show you the effect. I have no idea how it works but it's pretty cool.

Its possible it works like a gif, i used to do a lot of 3D and it was a way of doing it.
