  • Fuji/Godox HSS test shoots

    Hi everyone

I always seem to start of posts like this but sorry for not posting anything new in a long while. A few reasons but main ones are weather and having problems finding people to shoot.

Ok enough feeling sorry for myself I have been using the Fuji system for a long time now but always found it let down by the flash side of things which is my style. That was until a few weeks ago when things started to come together on the flash side of things. Godox a Chinese company started making they gear work with the Fuji system. This now means I can use ttl and the main thing hss. This means no more messing with filters and best of all high shutter speeds.

I have only had the set up a two weeks or so and have only done a few test shoots with it. I find it so refreshing and am so looking forward to getting out and using this kit an better shoots. I was able to shoot Haley the 1st time I took the kit out and Kadee who I had to bribe with the promise of an ice cream the 2nd time. I will let guess which is which

    Really pleased you showed these.

Like that you show both colour and mono along side each other so we get a comparison.

I am very much a colour man. But I do appreciate the beauty of mono, and the editing that went into them.

All these are perfectly focussed, right down to every single hair on het head.

You have a very good bokeh to the background.

Amazed at the shutter speed with flash. I guess this is what you were referring to.

Pleased to see you posting again.....

      Hi Garry

I have removed the links as I know people do not always like clicking links. I am having trouble uploading photos to my gallery but am looking into it.

Yes HSS = High Speed Sync means I can now shoot up to the max shutter speed of 1/8000sec and not the normal of 1/250sec. This means I no longer need to use nd filters so I can shoot wide open which is very much another way I like to shoot

Understood, although I found the link handy, as it shows Iexif !
