Yesterday May the 9th marked 70 years since the liberation of the Channel Islands.
They were invaded in 1940 and were the only part of the British Isles occupied by the Nazis during World War Two. We had a large cavalcade of which I thought this photo helped to sum up our day after Sir Winston Churchill famous speach in which he said "and our dear Channel Islands are also to be freed today". Shot with the fuji XT-1 and the basic kit lens 18-55mm. Edits done in lightroomand photoshop to give it that old look.
