    Very dramatic, Donald and I see you biased the exposure by 2EVs. You could probably gone down a stop on the aperture from f.6 as well as I see that the shutter speed was maxed out at 1/4000th

          Thanks for the comments. I was trying to underexpose to capture the sun's rays coming down, then I thought it was far better in black and white.
          It is the pier at Folkestone harbour from where the cross-channel ferries sailed before the Channel Tunnel killed them off. When the Seacats were in operation they sent great tidal waves up the beach and swamped unwary bathers when turning round before docking.

            Very dramatic and moody but there seem to be quite a few processing artefacts in the clouds.

              Very dramatic and atmospheric but is it a real monochrome? I can definitely see purple in the sky, was it just a desaturated colour image? Love to have seen it in real life!

                David, It was hot in RAW colour then converted to b & w before further processing.
