    You can certainly feel the chill of winter - good use of black and white.

      I like the dramatic slope with the trees seemingly fighting to stay upright

      You have to get out there to find great scenes like this and Andrew certainly knows it.

        I think this is key to getting good landscape shots. You need to make the effort to get out when the conditions and light are right. Morning and evening light are generally the best. Most of my best photos have been taken at dawn or in the evening, many in fact on shoots with Andrew. With this shot the mist amongst the trees give a great effect and Andrew has cleverly toned the shot. The steepness of the slope adds tension to the photo and the path leeds you nicely into the mist.

          The wonderful slope adds great impact to what is a very eerie shot and one would indeed be tempted not to walk much further along that path.
          However I do feel the contrast between the top and bottom sections is a little too strong and toning down the top might be a benefit here. I also feel that the entry into the mist is very "sudden" and a more gradual introduction might seem more natural especially on the right hand side as we look.
          But perhaps this is exactly as it was. The toning is very effective.

          Further to above;
          I had been looking at this shot for quiet a while and by instinct went into Critique Mode. Of course it is not in the Critique section and therefore I must apologize for my uninvited critique. I would like to add that I enjoy this picture ever so well especially as it is not something we see everyday.

              You are offering your opinion Tom thats all, so I see nothing wrong with that. At least you have an opinion that you are not frightened to express. I'd love to see more people do that.

              I'm pretty sure Andrew appreciates any constructive comment anyway

                  Like this alot, the split tone of the image really works, the detail in the centre of the forground really makes the shot come together, you focus on that and everything else falls in! Spot on.
