  • Where to print large format custom prints?

    Hi!

I want to print a large format pano print for my folks. The size is 1050mm x 390mm so its not a normal format.

    ok few questions about it..

A: where do i get it printed? I have been quoted about $100 and dont want to play with bad printers for this price
B: will the 10mp pic be enough to sustain the quality?
C: What program do people use to minimise loss when enlarging?

    Thanks in advance!

Working on a guess that the file of 10mp is only roughly 3100 pixels by 3000 pixels, it will not be possible to produce a print of that size. It will end up highly pixelated.
For such a print, around 40 inches wide, you could get away with a resolution of 150 pixels per inch because it won't be viewed from too close, which means a minimum of 6000 pixels on the long side. With the common ratio of 2 : 3 this will need a file of 24mp at least!!

        Hi Michael,
Just an update. I made up a jpeg pano to your dimensions, and at 150ppi it came out at 6200 x 2302 pixels - a total of 40.9 mb. You will have to do some serious up-sizing if you want to print that big.

I have closed this thread, it is being used as a means of promoting a particular site producing prints. The original poster and devidbro and more than likely the same person, certainly their IP addresses are very similar. I would normally delete the thread, but in deference to Rogleale who is trying to be helpful I have not done so. The 2 offending posters have both had their accounts deleted
