  • HP B9180 colour gamut comparisons

We've done some initial colour gamut measurements on the B9180 compared to the new Canon IP5000D large format pigment ink printer and an Epson Stylus Pro 4800. I'm in a bit of a rush as I have to attend a family event today, so I'll just upload the results in this thread and return to discuss later

Here is the L50 (medium density) result (the darker plot is sRGB), using Hahnemuhl Photo Rag:

Re: HP B9180 colour gamut comparisons

I appreciate that I'm probably the only person, but I'd be interested in how the gamut compares with a printer like the R1800. Epson's K3 inkset uses the traditional array of colours (with light cyan and light magenta) whereas the R1800 added the red and blue to, apparently, increase the gamut. It would be interesting to compare where that sits in these comparisons.

I appreciate that the B9180 is in competition with the R2400, not the R1800. It's only a matter of interest.

I do have some R1800 data for you, though not with the Hahnemuhl paper - with Epson Premium Semi Gloss if I recall. I'll dig it out this evening
