  • New starter..........

    Hi,

I am a newcomer to this site, and I stumbled across it when using an on-line search facility for some clues in resolving a printer problem.

Now I am here, I will outline the problem, in the hope that someone may have the answer, or be able to point me in the right direction.

Problem relates to an Epson 950 printer, though is probably not model-specific. When accessing the printer ink status panel (the one with the coloured columns monitoring how much ink remains) - most of the text has changed from English to French. This problem co-incided with an ink outage and refusal to print. Inks have been re-instated and is printing OK - but the language problem remaions.

Have re-installed printer driver files to no effect, and cannot locate any reference on the help panels on how to change the language (most of the help panels are also now in French).

If anyone can shed light on how to resolve problem - would be delighted to hear from you.

    Thanks and kind regards,

    Mike.

      Hi Kurt,
Thanks for your reply; PC is a desktop assembled locally by retailer, and running under Windows xp.
Has been functioning fine, until this problem co-incided with printer malfunction (ink status greyed-out and refusal to print files that had been transferred OK). The ink-status problem was resolved by removal and refitting each ink cartridge. One required replacement. Once this was done, the printer is working OK. Only problem is that the printer and ink display panels are in French ("papier ordinaire, vitesse" etc.). Also, the help texts are also in French.
      Thanks and kind regards,
      Mike.

I tried Googling for help on this but there was none to be had. I personally would do a complete uninstall of your Epsom software, Unplug the printer and re-start the computer so that it excepts that there is no printer connected. Then re-install software and you should get the option to select the language you require. Be sure to uninstall the driver as well then when re-installing it will be as if it was for the first time. Hope you succeed.

Sorry, I can't help either. I use a Mac and I can't find any preferences or other items that would allow the change of language on the Mac versions of the Epson utilities.
